John McIntosh

BLOOMINGTON, IL - John S. McIntosh, 62, of Bloomington, IL, formerly of Newark, died at 11:00 am Wednesday, March 18, 2009 at his home. His memorial service will be at 5:30 pm Saturday, March 21, 2009 at Carmody-Flynn Williamsburg Funeral Home, Bloomington. The family will receive friends from 4:00-5:30pm Saturday at the funeral home. John was born July 29, 1946 in Detroit, Michigan, the son of Donald K. and Eunice McClatchey McIntosh, Sr. He married Emma Jean Latham February 6, 1970 in Newark, Ohio. She survives. He is also survived by his children, Milana Jean McIntosh, Westerville, Ohio, Sarah Anne (David) Svatora, Bloomington, Michael Scot (Dr. Ruchira Garg) McIntosh, Miami, FL and Kim McIntosh, of Ohio; four grandsons, Matthew Joseph and Zachary John Svatora and Shiva Scot and Arjun Garg McIntosh; one brother, Donald (Ann) McIntosh, Jr, Dearborn, MI; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents. John was a US Navy veteran of Vietnam, serving on the USS Cadmus. He was a long distance truck driver for many years and quit working in November of 2005. John was a model railroad and avid naval enthusiast. He was a big Ohio State Buckeye fan and an avid reader. John was a loving husband of thirty nine years, devoted father and grandfather to his four grandsons and will be dearly missed
