Newark - A funeral service celebrating the life of Carolyn Ann Bell, age 71, of Newark, will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, January 18, at The Newark Chapel of Henderson-Van Atta-Stickle Funeral & Cremation Service with Pastor Dave Mason officiating. Burial will follow in Newark Memorial Gardens.

Carolyn passed away on Monday, January 14, 2019 at the Selma Markowitz Care Center (operated by Hospice of Central Ohio) surrounded by her loving family.

She was born September 23, 1947 in Newark, Ohio to the late William and Rosemary (Wieber) Kidd.

Carolyn was a dedicated sister, wife, mother, and grandmother. She put her family above all else and loved her husband unconditionally. She instilled in her children the belief that they could achieve anything in life. Carolyn knew that listening was the best way to help someone solve a problem and was eager to offer support. Carolyn had a passion for fashion, dancing, and decorating. She had a great sense of humor and a wonderful laugh. Carolyn's most cherished memories were of family vacations to Myrtle Beach and times spent holding and hugging her grandchildren.

Working at Pathways of Licking County, she supported others in crisis on the crisis hotline. She also worked at the Night Prosecutor's Office as a Hearing Officer.

Carolyn and her husband, Bill have been members of the Heath Church of Christ for the past fifteen years.

Carolyn is survived by her husband of 47 years, William R. "Bill" Bell, whom she married on May 22, 1971; a daughter, Jennifer A. (Bryan) Long; a son, Ryan R. (Kim) Bell; a stepdaughter, Teresa (Dwayne) Johnson; two brothers, Jody Kidd and Todd Kidd; five grandchildren, Bradley, Michael, Ashley, Samantha and Tabitha; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Terry Kidd.

Family and friends may call from 4-7 p.m. on Thursday, January 17, at The Newark Chapel of Henderson-Van Atta-Stickle Funeral & Cremation Service, 59 North Fifth Street, Newark.
