A funeral service for Rex Allen Ropp, 77, of Buckeye Lake, will be held at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, June 24, 2023, at Brucker and Kishler Funeral Home, with Rev. Sean Allen Ropp and Rev. Haley Akers officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery, where military honors will be conducted by the Licking County Veterans Alliance. Family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, June 23, 2023, at the funeral home, 985 N. 21st St. Newark, OH.

Rex passed away June 17, 2023, at Mt. Carmel East. He was born September 10, 1945, in Newark, OH, to the late Wesley Elsworth and Ethel May (Beaver) Ropp. 

Rex was raised in the Licking County Children’s Home. He was an Army Vietnam veteran. He worked at ITL which later became Pac-Tec. He attended Faith United Methodist Church for many years. He was a member of VFW, Newark Moose Lodge, and Druids. He enjoyed working at Bill’s and Bob’s Bar in Buckeye Lake, and in his spare time he enjoyed fishing, golf, darts, and horseshoes. 

He is survived by his children, Sean Allen (Pamela) Ropp, Amy Marie (Carlos) Ball, Kyle Joseph (Luyreter Burhns) Ropp, and Kory Justin (Adrienne) Ropp; grandchildren, Hayden, Brice (Samantha), Makayla, Blake, Anthony, Bryden, Emma, Khloe, Gage, Kyler, Carter, Ava, Avanna, and Carleigha; sisters, Carolyn Thomas, and Martha Jane Presley; several nieces and nephews, and many friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Carl Ropp.
